A little while back, I compiled my spring beauty essentials. I thought that instead of doing another one for the summer, I would narrow it down to a specific beauty product: lipsticks. Lipsticks are definitely the type of product that changes with the seasons and they're also my favourite beauty product in general, so I'd like to share with you a few of my favourite lipsticks that are perfect for that bright and fun summer look! |

Rimmel lipsticks are definitely one of my favourite lipsticks ever, and this particular matte range consists of a great spectrum of shades. Specifically, the shade 102, is a colour I mostly reserve for summer. It's a bubblegum pink, but what I find it interesting is that it gives off the illusion of having a tan - even when you don't have one! It just creates a special effect to my complexion, making it appear that I've been under the sun!
Unapologetic
Brights are a must-have for summer lipstick, and this shade is the perfect example. This fun bright pink is absolutely gorgeous as it really livens the face, while adding a feminine and girly element due to its pink hue. Again, this is another shade that I feel is especially unique to summer.
Bright orange! What could scream summer more than that? I did mention this in my spring beauty essentials, but this colour definitely carries on throughout summer. Anything with an orange or coral hue is truly representative of summer and doesn't really translate as much throughout the colder seasons. Also, since orange is quite a warm shade, it really ties in with that glowy and tanned golden bronze complexion that is greatly sought after during the summertime.
Mad for Matte
Reds are definitely a year-round lipstick shade, but it's also true that there are so many different shades of red out there, that some just seem to suit a particular season more than others. This particular red is slightly more on the warmer side and resembles a more of a watermelon red hue. Red lipstick is complimentary on virtually every skin tone and is extremely flattering as well as attention-grabbing in a chic and classic way. My favourite summer look with a red lip is with a subtle gold eye and a white top... forever a classic!
So, these were my top 3 lipsticks that I believe are perfect for the summer due to their fun bright and impactful shades! The formula of each of these lipsticks is matte, yet extremely creamy and comfortable. I highly recommend these shades as well as the specific lipsticks! What are your summer lipstick favourites?
The revlon colourburst in unapologetic is beautful - I have to say I'm the worst, because I normally stick with a dark lip no matter what season; but I am trying to branch out so this was a really helpful post!
