June Beauty & Fashion Favourites | 2016

I cannot believe how we're more than halfway through 2016! I feel that for some reason, this year was the quickest year that I've ever experienced. I'm not necessarily complaining, especially since July is my birthday month, but it can be terrifying how time passes by so fast. Anyway, I don't normally do monthly favourites, in the sense that I don't necessarily plan on compiling a list to share as I don't usually accumulate many favourites on a monthly basis. It's usually when the month ends that I realize that I've actually acquired a load worth sharing. This month, there's more fashion favourites especially since this month was when Canada finally warmed up for the summer!

Fashion.

                           

In case you haven't noticed already, the bardot top is one of the most prevalent fashion trends currently. It's one of the many pieces that's being revived from the past decades, particularly from the 60s to 90s. I find this style top to be so pretty and feminine and very flattering. I'm actually not sure if this particular top is supposed to be off-the-shoulder since when I wear it, the bell sleeves rest just on the balls of my shoulders, but if I want, I can bring them down and it does stay in the bardot-style. Nonetheless, I've been really loving this top along with its floral pattern which is something that I've newly been obsessed with; I'm definitely diverting away from the uniform-coloured pieces and venturing into slightly busier prints.

Another top that I've been loving especially when it gets super hot, is this white lace cami/top. It's very pretty and lightweight and goes with absolutely everything.

Additionally, I've been getting a lot of use out of my Forever 21 light-denim high-waisted jeans* (similar). I find that this coloured denim is perfect for the warmer seasons; there's just something so fresh about it that it makes wearing tight jeans feel a bit lighter even in the hot weather. I've actually been pairing these jeans with the floral top which makes for the ultimate summer outfit!

Accessories.

Another favourite is my new eyeglasses. I've been on the hunt for large round tortoise-shell glasses for the longest time, and when I discovered the site Firmoo, I quickly found what I was looking for. The amazing thing is that you actually get your first pair of glasses for free (except for shipping costs)! I love these glasses as it pulls off that "bookworm/introverted Londoner" vibe (does that even make any sense?).

Beauty.

I always have and always will love a classic red lip. Until recently, however, red lipstick was neglected, often being replaced with my bright purples, pinks, and oranges. Apparently this month, I was experiencing red lipstick withdrawal, because I kept feeling inclined to wear it! Particularly, I kept reaching for the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish in 111 Kiss of Life, which is the richest classic red ever - very similar to MAC's Russian Red!

Next, I included the Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner in my May Favourites, but this month I've really been enjoying winged liner in general. This may sound strange, but winged liner is actually something that I especially put on when I'm in a rush! I've mentioned this countless amount of times, but because my lashes are very straight, it takes forever to curl my lashes enough for it to stay curled; therefore, whenever I'm in a rush, I totally skip on mascara, and just swipe on a wing, and it's totally easy, especially with this eyeliner! I totally recommend it.

So, that completes last month's round up of my beauty and fashion favourites. On a random note, I've actually recently been obsessed with baking! I never thought that I would have a knack for it, but I've been successfully executing so many easy, yet delicious recipes and they've all turned out great!
