The Pink Makeup Edit.

Anyone who knows me well enough knows that my favourite colour is pink - and it doesn't stop when it comes to makeup. Of course though, pink makeup can be quite intimidating or tricky as it can be susceptible to appearing a bit sickly or too childish. However, anything can be turned into a tasteful and pretty makeup look. Personally, this is my favourite look that I actually wear very frequently and feel that it works for me, so hopefully this post will help you in wearing pink in your makeup.

Top to Bottom:

Blush: e.l.f Blush Palette - Light
Lipstick: L'Oréal Le Matte - 100 Matte for Me
Eyeshadow Lid: Maybelline Color Tattoo - Inked in Pink
Eyeshadow Crease: Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette

Eyes. Pink on the eyes is probably what makes pink makeup the most intimidating as it can easily make you look sick or even have pinkeye! So, choosing the right pink shade/ tone is key. I adore pinky champagne tones for a light wash of subtle pink, but for something that is more apparent, I also love a deep rosy pink that has a plum undertone. This way, the pink doesn't appear as stark, but deeper and more "natural". Also, to make it look more polished, mauve transition/crease shades are the perfect shade to compliment a pink lid look especially since it's more cool-toned which anchors down the warm pink shade, making it more wearable.

Blush. A blue-toned cool pink is my favourite shade of blush ever. It's also a great shade for an all-pink makeup look as it doesn't look too intense or childish if it was a brighter and warmer shade. Since this is cooler and lighter, it doesn't overwhelm the cheeks.

Lips. Again, to prevent an overdose of pink, opting for a lighter and cooler toned pink makes a less overpowering pink effect, but still maintains the youthful and fresh look.

Of course, if a triple-pink makeup look is still too much for you, perhaps adopt just one of the above makeup categories to integrate pink into your makeup! What ways do you incorporate pink? What is your favourite "colour theme" when it comes to makeup?

  2. That's so brave of you to put pink on the lids, I'd probably think a hundred of time before going with it ;)

  3. Really pretty picks! I love the look of the Blushed Nudes palette. I've only tried wearing pink eyeshadows last year, but I surprisingly love how it looks! Also, I need that Maybelline Colour Tattoo in my life!

    1. They are such pretty products! Yes, I feel that pink has recently become more popular, perhaps due to the ABH Modern Renaissance's introduction of berry and rosy tones which have become a favourite among many!
