Reviews on My Makeup Samples and Mini-Sizes.

At times I can be indifferent to makeup samples as they are usually less used than actual full-sized products but at times they're great opportunities to try out products without spending the money on a full-size. I have acquired quite a hefty amount of samples and have taken my time using a selection of my samples and mini-sized products to share my opinions on them with you.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush. I've heard only great things about the Tarte blushes so I was actually excited to try out the deluxe sample of this exclusive "Paaarty" shade from the Sephora birthday gift this year. I can confirm that it is indeed very pigmented and easy to blend with great lasting power. Now that I agree with the hype, I would love to actually buy a blush from their range!

Tarte Matte Lip Paint. This is only among a few liquid lipsticks that I've ever tried as I'm not much of a fan of liquid lipsticks in general. I got my hands on this as it also came with the Sephora birthday gift in the exclusive shade "Birthday Suit". While the shade is a very nice nude, the formula really wasn't: it was dry, difficult to layer up, and simply looked bad on the lips. I don't see myself buying one of these in full-size.

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick. This lipstick was absolutely amazing. Matte, yet ultra smooth plus a glorious shade ("Kiss Kiss Bang Bang") which is a dusty, rosy pink. With this, I get the hype!

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream. This is all I hear when it comes to a beauty blogger/vlogger's favourite foundation. It's supposedly great coverage, feels lights, and is dewy on the skin. Based on my own experience, it's not a bad foundation, but I really didn't experience its raved qualities. In fact, on some areas on my skin, it gathered dry spots. I'll give it a try a few more times, but I'll say that I'm glad I didn't splurge on actually buying it.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation. I felt the same way for this foundation as the previous one. I've heard great things about it, but it was too dry for my skin. Based on my experience so far with the various foundation samples I've received from Sephora, apparently high-end foundations don't work on me so far...

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer. I've spoken about this colour corrector primer ("Redness") before which I've always voiced in a positive light. I do like this as I feel that it does a good job at reducing redness on my skin before applying foundation. I do find that its consistency is quite thin which is not my preference, but it's not ineffective at all.

Urban Decay Primer Potion. I finally jumped on this bandwagon! Long story short, I do find that it prevents creasing and it does prolong my eyeshadow, but it doesn't really enhance the colour of my eyeshadow as much I'd like. This is the mini version and if it runs out, I might just purchase the full-size next time.

Too Faced Hangover Primer + Setting Spray. I've heard negative things about how this sprays which I can attest to as it indeed discharges quite a lot of product and makes my face very wet. Because of that, I'm not a fan on using it on my face (I'm not a fan on spritzing any spray on my face, actually), but I do use it on my eyeshadow brush to enhance my metallic eyeshadows and it does indeed enhance its pigmentation!

Marc Jacobs Daisy. I always embrace getting perfume samples as full-size perfumes are not very inexpensive and I prefer spending a lot of time trying out a sample before fully deciding on purchasing a full-size perfume. This fragrance is definitely one I plan on purchasing as it's a very summery and girly scent with top notes of violet leaves and strawberries. I love it!

Marc Jacobs Decadence. Apparently Marc Jacobs do fragrance right for me since I love this one too! It's a bit more mature and spicier than the former but still very feminine with top notes of Italian plum, iris, and saffron.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy. I received this perfume sample complimentary from Influenster Canada in my VoxBox.  It's a nice sweet, yet slightly spicy feminine scent with top notes of wild berries and mandarin. It's not my favourite as I do not prefer spicy scents, but it is still a great fragrance nonetheless!

I'm glad that I've actually put to use these samples and mini sizes.  Do you have any samples that have actually made you decide on purshasing the full size?
