The 5 Product Makeup Edit.

I don't know what it is (maybe it's the summertime), but I've recently been opting for quite a minimal makeup routine. Now, don't get me wrong - I've never been one for the "Insta-glam" makeup style, but given my love for beauty and makeup, I usually like to go for a more extensive makeup routine, while still balancing a semi-natural look. Nonetheless, I've recently been enjoying my scaled-down makeup routine that consists of only five products! And guess what - it's actually easier than you think.

1. Concealer | I always need some sort of complexion product given my proneness for redness (that was a clever rhyme!) as well as some discolouration. However, for me, I don't ever really need something heavy like a foundation. In fact, I wouldn't mind replacing foundation with just concealer. My favourite concealer to act as my foundation is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and the reason for this is because the coverage is great (a solid medium), but it is not heavy at all. In fact, the finish is quite light and is satin-like rather than an unflaterring matte finish that can appear to drying or heavy on the skin. I just apply this onto my T-zone as well as underneath my eyes and on my cheeks and blend away!

2. Blush | The next and last face product is blush. For others, bronzer or even highlighter is more of a priority for them, but for me, blush is always a necessity. I always embrace adding some girly pink flush to my cheeks which can give off a more completed makeup look. One of my favourites which also accompanies the whole quick-and-easy theme we've got going on here is the Glossier Cloud Paint in the shade "Puff". It's super easy to apply given the liquid formula and offers the prettiest flush on the cheeks!

3. Lipstick | If I had to only wear one makeup product, it would definitely be lipstick, so of course it's included in this top 5 edit. It's truly a product to top it all off and even distracts from the lack of makeup you have elsewhere on your face. My current favourite is the Glossier Generation G Matte Lipstick in the shade "Crush" as it's not a heavily pigmented lipstick that will look too stark against the otherwise natural makeup look. But, it does offer a tint on the lips that borders on: "Is it her natural lips or did she just eat a popsicle?" aka, my favourite look right now.

4. Mascara | I skip on the eyeshadow, but cannot ever skip on the mascara. It's a no-brainer. Lifting and tinting your lashes with mascara just rejuvinates your entire look and makes you look more put together despite the lack of effort required. My all-time favourite mascara? The L'OrĂ©al Lash Paradise - super dark and volumizes, lengthens, and curls. What more could you want?

5. Brows | Last, but definitely not least is the brow gel. This is an absolute must-have in my makeup routine - more so than brow pencil given my naturally full and dark brows. The Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel is one I repurchase on the regular (and practically buy in bulk each time!). It shapens and anchors my brow hairs in place giving my brows a naturally defined look. Perfect.

  1. I agree, Maybelline fit me is amazing to use as a foundation and I am doing this all the time in the summer! I haven't tried Lash Paradise though but would love to, as I have heard good reviews. Great post x
