Makeup Products I'd Re-Start My Collection With.

I have a variety of makeup products in each makeup category, some of which I use more than others and simply have always and will probably always continue loving. These products are those that I would instantly re-purchase if I had to re-start my collection or recommend to anyone who is first starting on their makeup collection. Basically, here are 6 products that I have consistently loved for a long time and still continue loving and using and recommending.

Eyeshadow. Out of all my eyeshadow palettes, the Tarte Tartlette in Bloom has stood the test of time for me. It's the ultimate neutral eyeshadow palette, and by 'ultimate' I mean it has practically everything you could need: warm and cool tones; mattes and shimmers; light, medium, and deep tones... It's not bland or boring, but perfectly versatile and universal. It's a necessity in my collection and holds a top spot in my makeup collection, for sure.

Complexion. Concealer is more of a priority over foundation for me, especially the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer as it's so beautiful on the skin: natural satin finish; medium-buildable coverage, and long-lasting. Sometimes I even substitute foundation with this concealer by applying it on my t-zone, undereyes, and cheeks which then blends beautifully and seamlessly into the skin, providing a natural, yet flawless skin finish. I'm probably on my ~14th tube - it's that good, and I am not seeking anything else to replace it with.

Cheeks. A collection without blush wouldn't be complete in my book. Especially when it comes to the Too Faced Love Flush Blush in "Justify My Love". It's probably my most used and 'holy-grail' blush given the flattering cool-toned baby pink tint it offers the cheeks. This is definitely one that I plan on re-purchasing and one to recommend for any starter collection (or any blush from this range for that matter)!

Mascara. When it comes to mascara, I like to find what I like and stick to it and for me, that's the L'OrĂ©al Lash Paradise Mascara. It truly is the perfect mascara for me: lengthening, volumnizing, and keeps the lashes curled beautifully throughout the day (particularly the waterproof version). I'm probably on my 5th tube now and don't intend on stopping!

Brows. Brow gel is probably in the top 3 makeup products I'd keep if I could only have 3 - it's that vital in my makeup routine. The Rimmel Brow This Way clear brow gel is a must-have in a collection as it shapens and sets the brows like no other brow product.

Lips. The lips category was difficult for me to narrow down, however, I felt that the Glossier Generation G Matte Lipstick in the shade "Crush" was non-negotiable and irreplacable for me. It's a unique product in that it is sheer, yet buildable with a pretty rosy tint that you can either use for a simple blotted lip look or intensify for a more polished opaque finish. A favourite indeed.

  1. Tarte eyeshadows are some of the best! I love the 'in bloom' cleanser and I also have toasted and their matte palette but I think if I had to restart my collection with one of their palettes it would be toasted for me - I'm a warm toned junkie!

    1. Ooh, the Toasted Palette looks so nice, but I haven't tried it! I'm glad to hear that the other Tarte palettes are just as good as the In Bloom one!
