Blushing In Nude | Maybelline

Don't let the title frighten you; this is a beauty blog! What I'm talking about is the Maybelline Blushed Nudes eyeshadow palette. I hauled this palette a couple months ago which appeared on my Drugstore Haul post and I even included a bit of a review on it. It seems that my previous Maybelline post, however, was quite popular and that a lot of you seem to enjoy the brand, so I thought I would dedicate a post to reviewing this palette in detail, especially after having time to get acquainted with it.

Maybelline New York Rosy Blush Nude Eyeshadow Palette

First off, I absolutely adore the packaging! It conforms to the whole rosy and blushed theme. It doesn't contain a mirror, but I personally find it quite convenient to see the shades without actually opening the palette.

The back of the palette contains a guide for combining the eyeshadows by dividing them in duos, trios, and quads. Perfect for beginners!

The palette contains 12 shades with more shimmers than mattes. In accordance with its name, the colours lean towards the rosy shades, but at the same time, still offers an appreciable range of shades which is actually one of the reasons why I love this palette; it simultaneously maintains a neutral and rosy spectrum, but offers diversity with pinks, golds, purples, silvers, taupes, and browns.

I would describe each shade as follows:

Top Row (Left to Right):

  1. White shimmer
  2. Pinky peach shimmer
  3. Silver shimmer (great for highlighting tip of the nose and cupid's bow)
  4. Baby pink shimmer
  5. Mauve matte
  6. Light mocha brown shimmer
Bottom Row (Left to Right):

  1. Copper shimmer
  2. Dark brown shimmer (pigmentation not so great with this one)
  3. Light chocolate brown shimmer
  4. Khaki brown matte
  5. Metallic rosy purple
  6. Bruise charcoal with purple shimmer
As you can see, the top row is much lighter than the shades in the bottom row.

I absolutely recommend this palette. Keep in mind that its pigmentation does depend on how well you prime or conceal your eyelids; it may not rival with high-end eyeshadows, but I find myself reaching for this one very often. Maybelline also has a few other palettes with different themes (The Nudes, The Rock...) so check those out if you're looking for another shade range.
