Spring Beauty Essentials | 2016

spring beauty essentials

Spring is in full bloom. Well, actually for Canada, it's been in full bloom for just about a day, but nonetheless, whether spring has arrived or just around the corner, it's now all about matching your face to the season! In other words, it's time for spring makeup which I'm really excited for. I'll be going through some of my current spring beauty essentials that will hopefully inspire you as well!

Lips

Loréal Paris Le Matte - 100 Matte For Me
Lipsticks are definitely one of those beauty products that contributes to seasonal makeup. Of course, when it comes to the warmer seasons, lipsticks usually revolve around the brights and coral shades. It was quite difficult just narrowing down to a couple of lipsticks, but these two are both quite different yet still spring-like. The first is the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in the shade 245 Audacious. I did write a blog post on this a while back, and honestly, this range of lipsticks is one of my top favourites of all time (I own 3 shades so far!). Its bright, coral orange hue packs a perfect punch for spring!
In line with the brights, but in a pink tone, is the Loréal Paris Le Matte lipstick in the shade 100 Matte For Me which I also wrote a blog post on. This lipstick balances out wearability while still displaying a bright and bold, pretty, Barbie pink.

Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss - Super Girl
I'm all about the mattes, but recently I have been experimenting with a more shiny look by coating a matte lip with some sheer gloss on top. This is super pretty during the spring season as it adds some extra fun and girliness.

Nails are a subtle way of conforming to seasonal makeup. With spring, pastels and bright nails are usually the way to go. The soft lavender one above is a nice subtle and feminine colour, while the other is more of a bright and fun coral.

I'm not really one to experiment with bright colours on my eyes, however, I feel that spring kind of offers the opportunity to do just that. If you haven't noticed, this season's trend is all about aqua eyes, and personally, I wouldn't really sport that. If you're in the same boat as me, coloured eyeliners are a great way to subtly add a pop of colour by lining your lower lash line or even by pairing it with your black wing liner. Physician's Formula do great eyeliners and they also sell them in kits where you usually get a couple neutral colours along with one pop of colour: perfect for those afraid of going all in!

Eyeshadow

Pinky and rosy eyeshadows are truly representative of spring. This Maybelline palette (blog post here) is perfect for this season. Its pigmentation is not up to par with higher-end ones, but I feel that a more sheer coverage just adds such a nice and soft eye makeup, which is perfect for creating a more fresh and natural look!

Blush
Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush Wardrobe
If you've seen my recent blog post, you'll know that I've absolutely fallen in love with the Too Faced blush palette! This is actually part of their limited edition Spring 2016 collection, but these blushes are all sold individually in their permanent range. To narrow down these gorgeous 6 shades, I am absolutely enjoying 'I Will Always Love You' which is an orange peach and 'How Deep Is Your Love' which is a watermelon pink; both perfect for spring!

I hope this post has given you some inspiration for your spring essentials! Please leave a comment below of your essentials this spring!
