Top Nail Colours for Summer

I feel that nails are not quite categorized as beauty or makeup, and is often discussed in its own distinctive niche. Having said that, almost everyone loves to have colour on their nails, and more recently, this "beauty" category has become more prevalent, accompanied with the trend of acrylics and shellac. Just like any other makeup product, nail colour and polish also adjusts to the seasons, summer often bringing with itself brighter and more vivid colours. Personally, I'm not one to sport the electric shades, and prefer either pastels or deep dark tones (my all time favourite shade is Essie's Ballet Slippers). Nonetheless, I do own and recommend brighter shades that are more appropriate for the summertime:

Neon Orange. Any bright electric shade is expected when it comes to summer colours for nails, and this orange hue perfectly conforms to that. Orange plus tanned and bronzed skin makes for the ultimate epitome of a summer look.

Sonic Bloom. Reds are definitely a year-round colour, but what makes any colour more appropriate for a particular season is its undertone. This red shade consists of a hint of coral and pink, creating a much warmer watermelon red, making it much more representative of summer.

Urban Utopia. Aqua, turquoise, teal... whatever you like to call it, this tropical blue-green shade almost only belongs in the summertime. Instantly, it conjures up the imagery of summer holidays and ocean blues.

Cute as a Button. This is a true example of a coral pink. Again, pinks are year-round, but add in a splash of orange, it creates the perfect pinky coral that perfectly compliments summer-kissed skin.

Celeb City. Right now, metallics are all the rage, whether it be for highlighter, lips, eyes, and even nails. This metallic silver is an ultra modern and fun shade that fits right in for this season.
