I was recently given the brand new Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara* by the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network. I seem to gaining quite the collection of mascaras lately, which I love trying out and reviewing for you readers. I never owned anything by Givenchy before, so I was very excited to try out not only a new mascara, but a product from the brand Givenchy, for the first time.
The packaging of the mascara itself is quite heavy. The mascara is encased in a bulky textured exterior. The scent is worth noting - a very potent rose water scent that lingers even when they're on the lashes. Take it how you will, but I personally am sensitive to scents, whether they be nice smelling or not, especially when its in makeup. However, that's of course personal preference.
The interesting thing about this mascara is its wand: it contains short bristles on one side where the wand itself can be straightened or bent to a 90º angle that eases an even application across the lash line to achieve its main purpose of increasing length along with the additional benefit of buildable volume. I find that the mascara truly accomplishes the length factor especially as it dramatically lengthens the lashes from root to tip. So, if length is a priority for you, this may be a great option! Personally length isn't a concern for me, but I love using this mascara for the lower lashes as I'll always embrace the opportunity for long Twiggy-esque lashes!
Overall, this mascara does offer great length to the lashes and may be a good option to consider if that's what you're looking for!
