I don't really tend to purchase lipsticks from Sephora as the drugstore carries an amazingly vast variety of high quality lipsticks. Having said that, as I was perusing the Sephora site I laid my eyes on the most beautiful lipstick I had ever seen. Of course, packaging should not really be the priority, but I believe that when spending money on a higher end lipstick, packaging should indeed be a factor. Anyway, I fell into the trap of packaging and so I naturally felt compelled to gets my hands on at least one shade. I figured to opt for a shade that I wear the most which is usually a deep red for me, hence this shade "Stop Traffic".
First off, the packaging! The lipstick is encased in a beautiful ivory-white plastic tube with gold hardware including a cute peach on the snap closure. The top of the lid also has the colour of the actual lipstick which is very convenient. Most pretty of all, however, is the embedded peach design that is featured all around the bullet. The tip of the lipstick also features engraved Too Faced initials, but it wore off instantly upon first use. Overall, the detail in this lipstick is highly appreciated and absolutely beautiful!
The shade itself is described as a wine red which I do agree on as it is a deep red that is quite neutral in tone. The finish is matte, yet very creamy to apply on the lips as it glides beautifully on the lips and offers opaque pigment. In terms of lasting power, it does gradually wear off as it is not transfer-proof; also, it tends to dry out throughout the day as it begins to cling onto the dry patches on my lips. So, this is not an entirely dependable lipstick to last throughout a long day, but reapplication can instantly refresh the look.
Overall, I am absolutely smitten with this lipstick and makes me want to get more shades! What do you think about this lipstick?
