Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette

Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette Kit review
I'm not going to lie: what first drew me to this product was its packaging! Anyway, as part of Rimmel's Kate Moss collection which is quite extensive and forever expanding, the brand has now conformed to the whole contour/highlight trend by adding the Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette to their range. The palette is available in 3 shades, each tailored to light, medium, and dark skin tones. I actually picked up the shade 003 - Golden Bronze which is for the darkest skin tone; I have fair skin, but the reason why I picked up this shade was because its highlighter and blush shades were more to my liking.

First off, as I mentioned, the packaging is absolutely beautiful. Cute, compact, and copper (not rose gold at all, as some people describe it). The palette consists of 3 shades: a highlight, contour, and blush.

Highlight
- golden champagne
- not glittery or chunky
- subtle pigmentation
Contour
- very warm chocolate brown
- good pigmentation
Blush
- very similar to Nars Orgasm blush (rose gold)
- not glittery or chunky
- good pigmentation

All in all, as a drugstore cheek kit, I do enjoy it. I feel that this product can be a hit or miss, manifested by its many contrasting reviews; I guess it depends on your expectations of this product, and also perhaps which shade of the palette you go for. Personally, its blush is one of my favourite blushes I own; the highlight is great for a subtle look, but is quite effective and impactful on the brow bone; the contour I wouldn't use as it is too dark for my skin tone. Also, I would definitely use all three shades as eyeshadows since they are indeed really pretty colours for a shimmery rose gold-toned eye look!

  2. This palette looks so pretty! I love the shade of the blush but it's a shame that the contour was too dark. I will check it out if I come across it :)

  5. Omg I have to agree that I love the packaging too. I have been looking into getting this for so long just because of how amazing the packaging is but I was always skeptical of how the actual product would be as it's just so cheap! But hearing this I think I'll have to get it now, a non glittery/chunky blush and a warm bronzer is definitely something I'm willing to invest in. Beautiful blog, by the way!
