I'll admit, I'm not usually one to purchase a product with the sole reason being the name attached to it which is what probably explains why it's taken me this long to purchase products from Tanya Burr Cosmetics. I personally adore Tanya Burr and always watch her videos whenever they land in my subscription box, and so when she released her Autumn Collection lipsticks and I saw the shades (and packaging!), I knew that I wanted them.
I feel that this collection, which also includes an eyeshadow palette and body and face illuminators, is an exact representation of progress for a brand as this collection is a beautiful extension to her range that includes new types of beauty products, adorned with more chic and modern packaging. The collection, I feel, conforms to the current beauty trends as well as maintaining the classic beauty look as Tanya mentions regarding the classic cream formulation of the lipsticks rather than matte.
This range of lipsticks include 6 shades that includes nudes, reds, berries, and corals: a well-rounded selection. Being one for the bright and bold colours, I was naturally drawn to the two gorgeous vivid shades: Wild Safari and Central Park. Of course, the packaging is worth mentioning due to its beautifully luxe design that resembles the YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks, which is quite rare for a drugstore product.
Central Park is a berry-toned fuchsia which is very unique. It's basically a hot pink that is infused with a berry undertone, making an interesting bright berry shade which is something I've rarely come across. I don't usually go for light pink lipsticks, but as this pink is deeper, this is definitely something I go for whenever I want to wear pink on my lips.
Wild Safari is absolutely stunning. First off, what first drew me to it was its name as I have an unexplainable attraction towards anything associated with Africa and adventurous expeditions (probably the thrill-seeker in me!). Anyway, this is the epitome of an orange-red/tomato shade. Simply gorgeous and its vivid colour against the gold packaging just oozes luxury. I feel that this sort of shade is perfect with a black outfit for a fierce look! Also, the shade greatly reminds me of the Estée Lauder x Kendall Jenner "Restless" lipstick, making for a great dupe!
Overall, the quality is amazing. Its pigmentation is opaque with just one swipe. As it's cream, it's not notably long-lasting, but I found that it disappeared only with eating and drinking, rather than just over time or by talking.
All in all, I am very impressed with these lipsticks and in the brand in general. I also have another product by the brand, but I will discuss it in a later blog post, so stay tuned!
Have you tried Tanya Burr Cosmetics? What do you think of the brand?
