5 Mascaras: Which Is Best?

I hardly ever "experiment" with mascaras the way I do with other makeup products. Basically, if I love one, I am pretty much loyal to it unless a new mascara launch looks intriguing to me. Having said that, I still do have other mascaras that I have purchased or have been sent, so I do have a select collection of them. Each one provides different effects and would suit different preferences, so hopefully this rundown will help you in discovering a potentially new favourite mascara!

Givenchy Interdit. Let's start off with a luxury mascara. Now, I am a firm believer that the drugstore is where all the great mascaras are. However, I was sent this and so of course I tested it. The selling point of this mascara is probably the interesting wand that can either be straight or bent to a 90° angle making it easier to maneaover around the lashes. It could be useful, but for me personally it is quite unneccessary. Also, this mascara contains a scent that is heavily potent of rose water (not my favourite!), so keep that in mind! The overall mascara is good, but not exceptional: it coats the lashes effectively and makes them black while also providing length, yet without much volume. Also, the formula is quite wet so it does weigh my lashes down. Overall, if you are looking for a luxury mascara to invest in, this is not a bad contender, but as I mentioned before, the drugstore contains a lot of better mascaras than this one.

L'Oréal Lash Paradise. This is my absolute favourite mascara! I remember when everyone, including myself, was admist raving over the Maybelline Lash Sensational (see below) and then this launched and pretty much replaced everyone's Maybelline! This is the perfect mascara for me: thickening, lengthening, curling (especially the waterproof version), blackening (but comes in other shades), and creates fluffy volume to the lashes. It's the all-rounder mascara!

Revlon Mega Multiplier. I got sent this mascara from Influenster and was intrigued to use this given its claim on adding volume and length. Well, this mascara lacks exactly that. This is a good natural mascara that I actually do use when I'm just running errands and want something natural and simple, so this may be for you natural lash lovers. For me though, this is not one that I will ever purchase myself.

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot. I remember when this was frequently raved about as well especially for the lower lashes. That interested me as lower lashes are quite important for me. So I quickly checked this out, but it unfortunaley did not meet my high expectation. Don't get me wrong, this mascara is really good, but wasn't unique in any way, not even for my lower lashes. It's a good one, but not the best.

Maybelline Lash Sensational. Thanks to the previously mentioned L'Oréal Lash Paradise, this is now second place, albeit still amazing. Again, it holds a curl effectively and creates length and volume. My most favourite aspect about this mascara is that it also seperates the lashes which the Lash Paradise doesn't do as effectively. So, sometimes I like to use this wand after using the Lash Paradise to receive the added effects of both mascaras.

Have you tried any of these mascaras? Which are your favourite?
