One of my favourite things about a new season is picking out some new pieces to add to the wardrobe. Of course, when a new season comes rolling around, it often accompanies new trends that become quite hard to miss given their saturation in stores and on our Instagram feeds. I'm not one to readily hop on the bandwagon, but I do like to pick and choose what I actually like and feels right for my style. Currently, the prevalent fashion trend seems to revolve around the colour palette of beige, camel, white, gold, and black. It's quite a departure from my usual pink theme, however, if you haven't already seen based on my new Instagram theme, I'm absolutely obsessed with this new colour palette. So, I recently purchased some new pieces that parallel with this new trend from H&M which I absolutely love: a trendy oversized check blazer; white flowy blouse; camel-toned sweater; plus gold-and-pearl earrings - all of which are easily accessible at almost all stores nowadays. So, below I've curated a selection of pieces that are perfect to add to your spring wardrobe this year. Be sure to let me know in the comments which trend is your favourite!

It's that time of year! Once December hits, all the blogs and YouTube channels flood us with those festive gift guides. I personally love reading and watching them as there is often so much variety in the gifts that you can purchase for a loved one (as well as for yourself!) that you wouldn't have thought about yourself. It's also often in these gift guides where you're able to see some injection of personality of the blogger that can hopefully provide some inspiration to the reader or viewer.
This is my second year compiling a gift guide (read last year's here). While I do have a few repeats, I tried to establish a well-rounded gide that covered multiple categories - beauty to fashion to miscellaneous. I hope this helps!
When it comes to gifting a beauty lover, it doesn't necessarily always mean makeup. However, if that's what you are looking for, purchasing a small luxury item is always special for the holidays. A Dior Eyeshadow Palette for example, can be such a pretty gift that caters to the makeup lover while it also being special and more than an ordinary product. Let's face it: when it comes to a gift, the brand name really does make a difference!
However, for the non-makeup beauty gift, perfume is also such a luxury and special gift, especially if you have an idea as to what scent they generally prefer. If they're like me and love a girly and subtly sweet scent, the Marc Jacobs Daisy line is divine, particularly the Marc Jacobs Daisy (more fresh) and the Marc Jacobs Daisy Love (more sweet). Perfumes can be quite pricey, however, so opting for a rollerball or a minature bottle can still be really cute and special - especially when the packaging is adorable like the Marc Jacobs ones!
For a gift in the fashion category, accessories are always a great idea. For example, a little compact mirror like the Kate Spade Mirror (similar here*() that is definitely less than ordinary would make for such a cute and thoughtful gift that actually has practical use. For a more luxe gift (without breaking the bank), small jewellery such as the Kate Spade Earrings (similar here*) or the Rosefield Watches would be very special, especially with the custom gift wrapping they come in!
When it comes to the "other" category, you can never go wrong with books. As long as you have a vague idea as to what topics they enjoy, a book can never be underappreciated. For a fun read for one who enjoys beauty, fashion, and the French aesthetic, the book How to be Parisian Wherever You Are is a perfect gift, adorned with beauty imagery and amusing descriptions. All you got to do next is find the perfect wrapping paper to wrap it up with!
Here were just a few gift ideas, but see below for more ideas!

Just like makeup and fashion, I like variety in my jewellery collection while also maintaining an overall theme and personal style. In this blog post, I've focused more on the gold theme of my collection, although I do like injecting some subtle colours quite often, especially in the form of tiny gemstones. Nonetheless, here are some gold-toned pieces that are among my everyday and most-worn jewellery that go with pretty much everything and anything.
When it comes to jewellery, I generally enjoy wearing more dainty and delicate pieces, yet ones that are still unique and incorporate subtle, yet pretty designs and pendants. This pretty much applies across the board: necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets. Pastel colours and pretty floral designs or even small gemstones are my favourite adornments on jewellery that make it pass the ordinary mark and allow for a more unique, yet chic and sophisticated look. Most jewellery I purchase from are Forever 21 and H&M, but be sure to check below for similars, including silver pieces!

One of the reasons why autumn is my favourite season is because of the fashion. I feel that autumn style is often reliable in the sense that many of the styles and trends that are often associated with autumn actually do stay consistent throughout the years such as the typical neutral scarves, boots, and jackets that stand the test of time as classics. But, I also love and embrace the ever-changing fads that are introduced each year that make autumn fashion even more exciting.
A lot of trends have emerged this year that adopt a subtle novel element while still staying somewhat neutral. Animal print is like the new neutral, especially for shoes and coats. Plus, floral patterns have become a staple for this season, but in more autumnal hues especially on dresses. Also, check and plaid print is huge this year, particularly in the form of blazers and even skirt-suits! For the thicker coats and jackets, teddybear coats have become quite prominent which give a cute edge for staying warm in the cooler weather. While the shades for this season are quite neutral such as the usual tan and white tones, pops of red and deep jewel tones provide a unique contrast that break up the more monotone shades. So, having these trends in mind, I've compiled a collection of recommendations* below that I hope will benefit you and provide you with inspiration!
What are your favourite trends for this season?

You can't miss it. Almost any fashion blogger has adorned the classic Chanel slingback shoes. I'll admit, it took me awhile to actually like them. They are a unique pair as they are different and bold, but in a simple and chic way. At first, they do appear a bit matronly, but when paired with a trendy outfit, you soon appreciate their versatility. So, with my eyes on those shoes, yet with my eyes averted from the Chanel price tag, I knew Zara would carry a dupe which they often do so well. Soon enough, I welcomed these beautiful Chanel dupes. These are not slingbacks (which I never truly liked), but the low block heel, cream faux leather, and black toe-cap is almost a spitting image - and with its price tag, it's even better than its counterpart.
These shoes are the type that can easily be worn throughout the seasons, throughout any occasion. Mostly these shoes are best worn with a casually chic outfit that makes these shoes appear more youthful rather than matronly. Due to their light colour, they're especially perfect for the spring and summer, paired with a breezy top and boyfriend jeans. These are definitely one of my most favourite shoes I own! What do you think?

When it comes to bags, I always incline towards crossbody bags rather than large handbags unless I need to. Having said that, I also love unique bags whether it be an uncoventional colour, print, or shape. Recently, I've grown a strong liking towards deep emerald greens (which is unfortantely underrated!) and that obsession applies on anything: makeup, clothes, jewellery, etc. So, when I spotted this deep green (or "bottle green" as Zara describes it) crossbody bag, I had to have it.
I love that this has a faux croc pattern as it adds additional detail and texture to the surface of the bag; also, the colour pairing of the deep green with gold hardware gives off a regal and luxiourious apperance. I feel that jewel tones are perfectly appropriate for the autumn and winter seasons, espeically during the holidays (pair this bag with red lipstick and you've got a classy, yet festive look!). This bag is still available on the Zara website (for almost 50% off of what I got it for!). I've also included some other similar bags below that are also within the same colour family.
Let me know what colour you're currently craving for this season!

I often find some difficulty with summer footwear. Often, summer shoes are quite casual that are just not compatible with my not-so-casual wardrobe. Having said that, it's also important for me to have comfortable and practical shoes sometimes so, I'm always on the hunt each summer to find the perfect balance between practical and chic. Enter these H&M red sandals:
Red is definitely a statement colour which I adore and love the pop of colour it gives to a summer outfit. These shoes are easy slide-ons that are so comfortable to wear and I haven't experienced any problems with "breaking them in". Its faux-seude material, low heel, and bow-tie straps, however, amp up the simple shoe into something far more interesting and pretty. This is why these have become a staple in my summer wardrobe!
These are really versatile as you can easily dress them up or down. I love styling these with dresses, but they look just as nice with jeans that are rolled up at the bottom. They just create an overall cute statement effect without being too dramatic!

I'm a light traveler, even in my day-to-day and so I feel that, more often than not, I carry around small crossbody bags containing only the bare essentials. Having said that, up until recently I had a quite large wallet that would take up much room in my small bags and even weigh down my larger purses too. Then, I streamlined to a very minimal cardholder that was just a bit too impractical and limiting. I needed an in-between and here it is: the Ted Baker Manzini Small Wallet.
I'm not a major designer lover, as brand names are not a priority for me -style and quality is. So, Ted Baker is one of the few designer brands that I personally value since its style is completely compatible with mine - pretty, feminine, and soft, but is also of high reliable quality. When it comes to bags, I usually opt for leather which means that I always choose to invest a bit more in such pieces. Ted Baker indeed checks off all the boxes that I look for in terms of quality and luxury.
Everything about this purchase was exceptional and impressive, including the box packaging it was delivered in, along with its proof of authenticity. The wallet itself is a palm-sized wallet, adorned with a pretty pale pink (also available in black) leather exterior with rose gold embossing and hardware. The snap closure opens up to a streamlined interior: 4 cardholders, a few slots, and a coin purse - which I find is very rare to find in small wallets!
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase; I finally got to try out from my favourite designer brand and invest in a piece I know I will get a lot of wear out of! I see that currently the wallet is sold out. Hopefully it'll restock soon, but I know that they carry many similar styles in an assortment of colours as well. I've also included similar and slightly different versions below.

Pantone says the colour of the year is "Greenery". Summer always calls for the orange-reds. It's borderline Christmas-themed, but the saturated and hot hues of the green and red introduce a twist that is exclusively representative of summer and exudes those "tropical vibes". So, this summer I just cannot get enough of this vibrant colour combination. It's definitely bold as neither green or orange/red are neutrals, but that's exactly why I love it. Paired with dewy and highlighted skin along with bare eyelids (or golds for a glammed-up look), an orange-red lip stands out just enough. The contrast with an equally bold shade like green, on the clothes makes for a very different and standout combination, yet still sophisticated.
I usually opt for patterns when it comes to bolder shades, rather than wearing it my means of colour-blocking. So, tops or dresses that subtly inject the green colour is a beautiful way of incorporating it into your look (see examples below).
When it comes to the lipstick, I just cannot get enough of the Tanya Burr lipstick in "Wild Safari". It is the epitome of an orange-red that is not very matte, yet nor shiny either - just the perfect satin finish. It really is the truest summer shade!
What colour combination are you currently adoring for this summer?

It's that time of year where it's prom season and this means that many are searching for the perfect dress. I understand that finding the perfect prom dress can sometimes be overwhelming, especially when considering the place to buy the dress, the price, as well as finding the one that fits your style. Finding the perfect dress and dressing up for an event is personally the best part of attending a special occasion, but when time is running out or it begins to get frustrating when you cannot find your perfect dress, it can spoil the experience. So, when I was approached by Millybridal UK and checked out their online store and their wide variety of Bridesmaid Dresses and Prom Dresses, I knew that I had to share this beautiful and diverse shop that can help you in finding your dress that suits your personal style. Below, I've featured 3 different dresses that represents three different styles, just to demonstrate that no matter your style, you can easily find a dress that suits your preference.
-
An ethereal and classic style that mimics the princess look, this long A-line, V-neck chiffon dress with a beaded top-half is perfect for prom as it gives off the ultimate classy, pretty, and girly look - simple, yet impactful. This dress is also available in a large variety of colours which enables you to get the one that perfectly suits your preference!
The Casual Dress.
-
The shop also provides a beautiful selection of dresses for those who prefer to wear a less dressy ensemble for prom. To achieve that casual and understated dress that is still in the spirit of prom, a short length and thin strapped dress with a relatively thin fabric is a great option. This dress features an empire waist style with a sweetheart neckline and a chiffon fabric. It still exudes the prom look given its sequins and can be dressed up or dressed down with accessories. Again, this dress is available in a large variety of shades.
The Modern Dress.
-
Millybridal UK also carries a large variety of dresses that suits those that prefer to wear trendier and more modern pieces. This category is my personal favourite as it switches up the typical prom dress look and adds a unique interest that is sure to capture attention. This dress achieves a balance between a simple and classic design due to its floor length with modernity due to its unique tulle and lace fabric and its plunging neckline. Its pattern is very special and diverges from the typical simple and uniform design that prom dresses usually have.
I am very glad to have shared the shop Millybridal UK with you and hopefully this has helped you in acquiring your perfect prom dress. It contains a diverse selection of dresses all at an affordable price that will easily have a dress that is right for you. Let me know what your favourite dress is!
I did a post recently on this season's fashion trends, and one of those current trends is the slogan t-shirt - basically any top that contains a subtle, yet impactful detail inscribing a phrase, word, or even symbol. I find that this sort of piece really exudes an effortless, classic and cool vibe, but can also be quite French or Parisienne-esque, depending on its style. Speaking of French, I recently checked off this must-have trend for the season with this slogan tee from Forever 21 that literally has French written all over it - right up my alley as you may notice by my blog name! I actually saw this top on the Forever 21 Instagram page last year, but soon realized that it wasn't available on the Canadian site. One year later, Forever 21 continues to sell the piece, but now also in Canada! So of course, considering how long I had my heart set on it, plus its conformity to the current slogan trend, it had to be mine.
The top itself is quite simple: a cream and red ringer tee that speaks French from the front and the back in a classic and simple font. In terms of styling, as I am not really one for casual attire, I like to smarten this piece up by tucking it into high-waisted jeans and wearing pointed heels and a small handbag, and of course red lipstick!
I've now got one trend ticked off for the season, although I've got many more that I am absolutely loving and will hopefully inject into my wardrobe. How do you feel about the simple slogan tee trend?

I don't know about you, but the biggest reason why autumn is my favourite season, is because of its fashion! About a month I wrote a post on the fashion trends that I expected this autumn/winter to bring based on the hints coming from the runway and shops, but now that we are officially in the autumn, we can clearly see what trends have officially emerged this season. I feel that in general, 2016 has involved quite a lot of eccentric and unconventional pieces, in the best possible way of course. From fresh fabrics, patterns, and combinations, this autumn stays in line with these innovative fashion styles and extends them even further.
1. The Ruffle Turtleneck. We all know the autumn often equates to turtlenecks/roll-necks that can stylishly keep our entire upper-half warm and cosy. The turtleneck has many variations, one of them being this relatively tight and high neck, with "lasagna-esque" ruffles along the trim of the neck and sleeves. This is the sweater of the season, yet brings me way back to my childhood where this identical style was a staple in my wardrobe. This variation definitely injects a girlier vibe, yet with a monochromatic colour-way it still maintains an air of sophistication and chicness. Needless to say, I really enjoy this trend, which is now being unavoidably acknowledged in shops such as ASOS, Topshop, H&M, and Zara.
2. The Pyjama Shirt. Taking lounge-ware to a whole other level, the pyjama blouse has really become prevalent and is now seen in many shops, as well as by many celebrities such as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. It's a questionable piece and can prove itself to be quite tricky to pair without looking like a full-on pyjama ensemble, but with a pair of jeans and a belt, this trend represents a really unique piece that one can have a lot of fun with!
3. The Pinstripe Trousers. This season, the professional and smart/casual look is very in, supported by the editorial campaigns of H&M and Zara. Combining the piece with a matching blazer or a tucked in shirt can amp up the professional vibe, but to stay on the street-fashion front, eclectic combinations with a more casual top or shoes is what this is made for.
4. The Silk Slip Dress. I've seen this around so much that it definitely stands out as one of the prominent trends for this season. During the autumn especially, this piece conforms to the typical autumn look: layering. With a sweater underneath, or even tight trousers, this dress can be worn in many ways, yet all incorporating a feminine flair due to its delicate fabric. Again, this seems to be in line with the lounge-ware trend, bring sleep attire to the streets.
5. The Floral Printed Dress. Florals, for fall? Groundbreaking! It really is, and that is what makes it so noteworthy. Rather than the traditional autumn-colour-blocking dress, it's now about prints and floral to convey the same feel.
6. The Pleated Skirt. This is definitely being recognized by many brands, again such as H&M, ASOS, and Zara, and it again represents another branch from the smart/casual look. Pairing with booties and a high-neck shirt, makes for a beautifully put-together look to play up its feminine vibe, but combining it with a chunky knit and loafers instead creates a more unique integrated look.
7. The Slip-On Loafers. Thanks to the likes of Gucci, there's been an explosion of affordable replicas of this androgynous shoe. Of course, its colour can make a difference in terms of injecting some femininity to it, but overall, this pair represents a very chic (and again, smart/casual) look, yet with a twist thanks to the slip-on functionality.
8. The Embroidered Boot. Embroidery was big last season. Ankle-boots are always big this season. Merge them together, and you get a unique, albeit controversial, seasonal shoe. I personally love it, and the fact that there's so many variations, patterns, and colour-ways, means that it's highly probable that you can find a pair that fits your style. It's definitely a statement shoe, and can tastefully improve any basic outfit.
9. The Velvet Pointed Booties. Again, ankle-boots! However, just as much as silk is being featured as one of the fabrics for this season, so is velvet - especially when it's jewel-toned. I've seen this material being showcased in many forms such as handbags and tops, but booties are definitely the most prevalent way of using it. Again, velvet shoes may not be the most conventional, nor practical, but it does make a statement that holds a very special place in one's wardrobe.
So, these are the fashion trends that I believe to be the most prominent this autumn. What trends are you following or are the biggest fan of? I personally adore the majority of these, and plan to incorporate them into my own style and making them my own!
Your personal style is literally shown in everything you do; it's not just limited to your fashion or beauty preferences - it's who you are and is a huge factor in defining your personality. Having said that, everything that you do, think, and own, is a reflection of your own distinctive and unique style. Phone cases and laptop skins are no exception and are virtually universal in terms of consumer interest as it's a fun way to showcase your own style, especially when there's the option to customize it. I recently had the opportunity to design my own custom laptop skin with Caseapp: a site that offers a large diversity of phone and laptop cases, as well as the service of being able to create custom phone cases and laptop skins! With the shop's easy to use interface, I was able to create my very own custom laptop skin that allowed me to express my own style!
I feel that the custom laptop skin I've created is very "me"; pale pink with a cute bow, it couldn't be more accurate! The quality of the print is excellent with its matte finish as well as its easy application. Also, its standard shipping delivered very quickly and in excellent condition.
