Some products prove to work so well that they totally change the game for you and become essential in your makeup routine. It definitely takes a bit of time to discover these types of products, but when you do, they become timeless valuables that you always turn to. These can include specific products or brands, a certain formulation, or even tools. So, here is a collection of items that once I discovered them, they stayed in my collection and at the top of my favourites list.
Waterproof Mascara. I've always evaded the waterproof formulation as I thought it was specifically designed for crying. It wasn't until I heard that waterproof mascaras are great for helping your lashes keep a curl which is something I am always wanting to improve on. So, a while ago I picked up the waterproof version of my favourite mascara and saw a very evident difference. My lashes really did hold a curl better and longer, particularly due to the drier consistency that waterproof mascaras naturally have. From now on, I always turn to waterproof formulations for my mascara.
White Eyeliner. Using the white or even nude eyeliner is a classic makeup trick that aids in creating the illusion of larger eyes. I very frequently add white eyeliner onto my waterline and love pairing it with thickly coated lower lashes to create the '60s doll-eyes look that I love so much.
Brow Pencil. I feel that eyebrows is one of the longest journeys that most people go through in pursuit of finally establishing a proper way to deal with them. Before, I used to simply use brown eyeliner which was quite tricky as it ran the risk of overfilled and very dark brows. Once I made the switch to a pencil specifically designed for the brows, I haven't looked back. It's simple and easy to use and allows me to achieve a natural looking, yet bold brow.
Brow Gel. Almost equally important as the brow pencil, brow gel is something I cannot part with. It sets the brow hairs and allows the ability to manipulate the shape of the brows. Sometimes, I skip the brow pencil and just coat my brows with just the gel.
Lipliner. This is a recent addition to my list of game changers. Lipliners are great to prolong the wear of lipsticks, maximize pigmentation, and most importantly, to cleanly line the lips for a precise application. Overall, it provides a perfectly polished pout!
Eyelash Curler & Brow Scissors. These tools are absolutely essentials for me. The former for curling my stubborn lashes which I've done even before I properly started wearing makeup. The latter for cleaning up my brow hairs by trimming the long strands. Tools can definitely be just as important as the makeup, so these have definitely changed the makeup game for me.

DeleteTotally agree with the brow products! They were a game changer for me especially because I barely have any brow hairs, haha.
