Looking glowy 24/7 seems to be the most coveted makeup look nowadays, regardless of the time of year. It does make sense - glowy skin imparts the allure of healthy and youthful vibrancy in a natural "je ne sais quoi" kind of way. Personally, it took me a while to hop on the bandwagon as I've tended to incline towards matte and high-coverage foundations for the longest time even though my skin didn't really need that heavy-duty base. Maybe it's because I've been binge-reading Into The Gloss or simply because preferences change, but I've begun to really appreciate that glowy skin look, even during the autumn/winter time, which is perhaps when we need that look the most. I was then on the hunt for the product that would give me that all-over glow while still allowing me to use whatever coverage foundation underneath. My search ended upon the perfect product: the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in "Luminous Light".
I've always heard rave reviews about the Hourglass powders, but didn't give them much attention since I wasn't looking for that glow. But now I do really understand the hype towards them. It's such an interesting product given that they are powder, but give off a luminous finish that makes your skin look natural and even dewy. Basically, it fulfills that cliché (albeit accurate) "lit from within look". The product is genius as since it's a powder, you can use any foundation underneath to achieve the coverage you want, but apply the powder overtop to alter the finish. There are multiple shades in the range that all provide different purposes however, the shade "Luminous Light" is designed to give an all-over glow that you can apply by using a brush to dust over the entire face. The shade is technically transluscent, so it doesn't personally change my foundation shade - it just gives me that natural, beautiful glow.
This is definitely a product that I have been using on a daily basis. Have you tried any Hourglass products?
