What's In My Mom's Makeup Bag.

I've featured what's in my makeup bag quite a few times already on this blog (as most bloggers do, I presume). I figured you get the idea as to my everday makeup bag, at least until a drastic change comes into my routine. What I did think would be interesting, however, is to give a glimpse into someone else's makeup bag, namely my mother as it's insightful to see the difference in makeup across two different generations. 

But first, a little backstory: I definitely credit my mother for initating my love for makeup. As long as I can remember, my mother has worn makeup and I would always be a witness to her application as a child. While I like to experiment with my makeup looks, my mother has stayed with her classic, signature look, namely a deep red lip and smudgy black wing liner. The entire routine is quick and easy, but the effect is impactful. Here's a brief rundown:

         

For the base, she uses the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation with the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. The combination provides a natural, yet effective base that maintains a skin-like finish, yet still covering and long-lasting. For the eyes, she consistently opts for a wing pencil liner. Any black khol liner works, but for now she's using the L.A. Girl Eyeliner, which is seriously creamy and pigmented. She tops off the eye look with the L'Oréal Volumninous Million Lashes Mascara which is super thickening and volumnizing. Then the lips. You could say that I got my dedication and love for bold lips from my mom. You will only find her in a deep red - she wears nothing else. However, before lipstick, she applies her favourite (and my favourite) Badger Lip Balm in "Vanilla" - an organic balm that actually doesn't make your lips more chapped - groundbreaking!! Onto the lipstick: her favourite is the MAC Cosmetics "Party Line" Lipstick (creme sheen finish) which is always applied over a lipliner, specifically the ZUZU Luxe Lipliner in "Cherry", another natural, organic brand.

There you have it! We don't have completly polarizing makeup preferences, however, I do like to personally change up my look on an everday basis, even if it's only slightly.
