May Beauty Favourites | 2016

May Beauty Favourites 2016
It seems incredible how we're about half way through 2016! For some reason, this is the first year where I actually sense how fast the year has gone. Having said that, this is actually my first monthly favourites post, which may be because I hardly accumulate enough products to compile an entire favourites post on, but this month I have enjoyed a fair amount of beauty products, all of which I feel have received enough love to share with you all.

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer Redness
Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer (Redness)
I received this product as a free deluxe sample when I ordered from Sephora. Colour correcting has been a gaining a lot of popularity recently, and honestly, the concept seems like magic to me in the sense that it actually works! This is a colour correcting primer for redness due to the counteracting green pigment of the product. I've been applying this on the sides of my nose as well as on my cheeks and it really does diminish the redness. The consistency is not thick at all, while a little really going a long way.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation 110 Porcelain
Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation (110 Porcelain)
I've written an entire review post on this foundation. Long story short: I love it! It has everything I typically want in a foundation: great coverage, matte, and yellow-toned. It can leave dry flakes as this foundation is geared towards normal/oily skin and I'm more on the other side of the spectrum, however, I feel that whenever the foundation sets in after a while, it creates a very nice smooth finish.

Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner
Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner (Blackest Black)
I love this product!! I'm relatively new to the liquid eyeliner bandwagon and this product has made it very easy for me to enjoy creating that perfect (well, almost perfect) wing. It comes off as wet, sets as dry, highly pigmented, smudge-proof, long-lasting but comes off easily with a wipe, and its tip is super easy to work with. The first time I used it, I didn't like it as the pigment would wear off when I tried drawing over the line, but it hasn't happened since. I highly recommend this!

Loreal Paris Le Matte lipstick 102 She's So Matte
Loréal Paris Le Matte (102 She's So Matte)
This isn't a new product, but I've recently gotten more use out of it and I absolutely love it. I featured this lipstick in my Top 3 Nude Lipsticks post. First off, the formula is amazing: matte, yet very creamy. Second, is the colour; nude lips is all the rage currently, but anyone who knows me knows that I much prefer the bolder colours, but this nude is so flattering and pigmented that it's become one of my favourite lipsticks.

Real Techniques Detailer Brush Core Collection
Real Techniques Core Collection (Detailer Brush)
I have this "detailer brush" from the Real Techniques Core Collection, and as you can see, it is a very small brush which can be used for many different uses, however, I've recently used this for applying concealer around my eyebrows. Applying concealer makes a massive difference to the brows, and this brush makes me easily and precisely apply it around the outline of my brows. Speaking of brows, by the way, I will be posting my brow routine soon, so stay tuned for that!

Essie Ballet Slippers nail polish
Essie (Ballet Slippers)
This nail polish has been featured in a few posts now, but this month, Essie has truly proven to me why it is one of the best polish brands ever. I have a few Essie polishes and they all have lasted a relatively decent amount of days on my nails without chips, but for the first time, I applied it without any clear polish on top as I usually do. Results? 7 days without a chip! Incredible! This particular colour, as well, is my absolute favourite colour for a nail polish: a soft, pretty, blush pink.

What were your favourites this month?
