New Holy Grail Foundation

I've found my new holy grail foundation - pretty big statement, right? Holy grail status is not that easy to obtain, but when a product earns that title, it's like finding a best friend - especially when it's something like a foundation; after all, it is a foundation: the base for the rest.

     

Finding the right foundation for your skin type and skin tone is highly important, but can easily be overlooked. Before I found this foundation, I had been using the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation which was, at the lightest shade, too dark for me as well as slightly pink-toned (I have yellow undertones). I had been using the foundation for years and never really thought about it until recently. I find it very important to be aware of your skin's needs and properties and then cater to it. So, when my previous bottle of foundation was running out, I thoroughly researched which one I should try next and I'm relieved that I finally discovered the right foundation for me:

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation - 110, Porcelain

The Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation, in 110 - Porcelain, is perfect for me. It is among those rare drugstore foundations that contain yellow undertones, especially for the fairest shades. The range contains 24 shades, however I did not see all 24 at the Walmart I visited. The foundation does state to be for normal to oily skin as well as being a matte foundation, so it may be cautionary for normal to dry skins to be using this, like myself, but I prefer matte formulas, so I went for it anyway. Indeed, I did detect some dryness on my skin, but the interesting thing is that soon, the dry patches disappeared into a uniform and smooth full coverage finish. It also has a somewhat runny consistency which is interesting considering that it is a matte formula, which I appreciate as it is very easy to blend, which I do using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. The only con, however, is that the bottle does not contain a pump. 

I find it a bit funny that I actually, unintentionally, now have all 3 products from Maybelline's Fit Me range: foundation, concealer, and powder, and that each of these are part of my daily makeup routine! I guess Maybelline did a great job with this range, in my opinion.
