Style File: Spring 2016

spring style inspiration boards
I'm a self-proclaimed beauty, fashion, and style blogger, so I'd like to cover precisely those topics on this blog. Having said that, I've realized that I've hardly shared my passion for style, thus I would love to begin properly including this aspect from now on. Styling is more than fashion; it's the mindful and visionary act of combining different pieces into an ensemble - a masterpiece or artwork, if you will. I've recently opened up a new Instagram account (@ stylesbymademoiselledena) showcasing the styles I create via the Villoid app (founded by style queen, Alexa Chung), and so I thought that I would also occasionally roundup some of these styles on the blog in a new blog series titled Style File which will correspond to a theme each time. I hope you enjoy! Today, I've rounded up 3 outfits that I feel are perfectly representative of spring and the current trends that this season has to offer, along with an injection of my own personal taste, which I hope you'll enjoy:

1. "Pastel Love"

Bag: ChloƩ / Glasses: Miu Miu / Top: Miu Miu / Skirt: Stella McCartney / Shoes: Chiara Ferragni

I absolutely adore the pastel colour palette which totally conforms to the spring season. The "egg-yolk" yellow (is that a proper description?), pastel green, and 60s style ensemble creates a feminine and cute flair while still keeping up with modern fashion, by opting for round sunglasses, a denim skirt, and the drool-worthy ChloƩ Drew crossbody bag. I find it quite amusing that today's modern fashion is reminiscent of decades-old styles, but hey - I'm not complaining!

2. "Coral Floral"

Dress: Valentino / Shoes: Giuseppe Zanotti / Bag: Yves-Saint Laurent

I've never been into prints before, but now that I feel that I'm becoming more adventurous and experimental with my style, I've totally fallen in love with the floral print (for spring? groundbreaking!). Laced-up pointed heels with an airy long-sleeved dress and a complimentary coloured salmon/coral YSL crossbody makes a sophisticated, yet girly outfit.

3. "Orange Crush"

Dress: Emilio Pucci / Bag: Dolce & Gabbana / Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana / Ring: Ileana Makri / Glasses: Illesteva

Orange is definitely one of those colours that are brought out once spring rolls around. I also find that the colour can be quite a tricky one; definitely not a neutral and can easily look tacky. I love how this dress subtly yet boldly expresses the colour, leaving the accessories to highlight it even more. Tortoiseshell glasses keep up with the warm tones, and the daisy-adorned black sandal heels help anchor the outfit by preventing it from going overboard with the colour theme.

You may have noticed that I haven't linked any of the pieces, and to be quite frank, it's because these items are very high-end/luxury which may not appeal to the majority (including myself). I share these styles solely for inspiration which can be recreated using more affordable pieces. If you really want a link to an item, however, I would be glad to locate it for you - just let me know!

I hope you enjoyed this first post of my Style File series. What do you think? Which one of these spring styles is your favourite?
