Single compacts of blushes, highlighters, eyeshadows, etc. can be great as you have the option to select one specific shade and just use it up. On the other hand, however, the beauty of palettes is that they contain variety and versatility in terms of the options of shades and finishes you can wear as well as how to use each pan in the palettes. Here's a rundown on 4 makeup palettes that adds quantity and quality to your makeup collection.

The Eyeshadow Palette.

Eyeshadow palettes are probably the most popular and obvious choice when it comes to palettes. It does indeed make more sense to have eyeshadow in palette form  as you're provided with more options than a singular pan; plus, palettes allow you to create more complete and cohesive eye looks due their wide variety in depth, tone, and shades. There are so many eye palettes on the market, but one favourite (especially as a starter palette) is the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette as it offers a cluster of neutral shades in a variety of tones and finishes. Plus, a few of the shades (as swatches) can also double as highlighter, bronzer, or contour!

The Blush Palette.

Blush palettes are often overlooked, but can actually be so versatile and useful. I personally like wearing different blush tones depending on my makeup look rather than sticking to just one neutral shade. If you're like me or would like to begin experimenting with different blush shades, opting for a blush palette such as the Elf Blush Palette is a great way to try shades you wouldn't normally buy in a singular compact.

The Highlighter Palette.

In line with cheek products, highlighter palettes are also a great way to add variety into your collection. When I was first starting with highlighter, I wasn't aware of the different tonal options I could wear and soon became amazed upon trying out this Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette: lavender for those cool toned blushy looks; a champagne tone for when I'm more tanned; a pearl for when I'm lighter; plus a cream option. It makes my highlighter collection all the more interesting, just due to one palette!

The 3-in-1 Palette.

A face trio palette is an excellent way of adding variety in your collection in terms of multi-tasking / all-in-one products. Having a highlighter, blush, and contour/bronzer all in one palette such as this Rimmel Kate Sculptting Palette makes it super convenient to complete three steps of your makeup with one simple palette. Plus, you can also use these shades as eyeshadow!
